Residential and commercial complex WEST 65 was designed in partnership with design studio “PFB Design” and construction was meant in 2 phases.
Given its utterly attractive and valuable location that has been developing rapidly in recent years, through Conceptual Solution intended for realization of the II phase of the complex, the main issue was to find adequate and attractive solution for the whole unit as pivot of the complex, both in terms of functionality and design, but also way of treatment of dominant effects that design instruments bring with them, starting from height of the base, body and top of designed high-rise building, through execution of facade panels, fully in line with possible visibility of the building from the most significant directions.
In terms of its design, high-rise building consists of a base with 2 floors + 2 floors + 2 floors + 2 floors intended for commercial urban functions and businesses, which, by its position refers to and affirms orthogonal matrix of recognizable New Belgrade block and tower of a high-rise building with 2 floors + mezzanine + ground floor + 40 floors structure, intended for residential purposes with larger number of representative units in terms of system and organization, which, to the extent that matches context and contemporary architectural trends, is a benchmark, pivot or architectural marker both in spatial and design context.
As regards architectural design instruments and applied spatial-urbanistic instruments for evaluation of established block units as matrix of urban development, designed high-rise building with its position, architectural simplicity through rectilinear derivatives and integration of regular geometric shapes, and finally, by modern way of realization in terms of high aesthetic features and visual compatibility, asserts its own positional, visual and formative dominance and recognition, but at the same time human-sized discretion that is undisputably present in terms of possibility to view contact target points during movement around and within the block itself.
