The residential and commercial building was designed through the applied intervention of reconstruction, adaptation, integration and extension of the existing corner facility built at the beginning of the 20th century in the spirit of the era of academicism, with the affirmation of both its high-floor design features and the design elements of facade plastic applied in a system of recognizable rhythmicity that is located in the relationships within the tract volumes positioned along the street directions that the tracts start.
Through integration with the existing built stock and the immediate environment, with the affirmation of the intersection as an urban motif, the building was designed as an interpolated, two-sided walled corner building with 2 Basements+1 Ground floor+7+Loft, oriented towards Cara Dušana and Višnjićeva streets.
According to the functional disposition of the units within the existing building, which is reconstructed, adapted and finally integrated into the newly designed body in its basic positional dimensions, by maintaining the established mass relations of the existing building as dominant, the newly designed unit consistently, in addition to the design, reaffirms the original organization of the functional units by their comparative, with an equally significant orientation towards both street directions with which it is connected.
The extended part of the newly designed unit, with the two-way movement of the body towards the interior of the plot, especially emphasized in the contact zones of the existing and newly designed floors, created a unique, layered residential and commercial building with significant spatial and program capacity.
