Given specific nature of the location, its immediate surroundings, infrastructural and suprastructural details and especially wider context of the planned unilterally built corner structure, preparation of Conceptual Architectural Design (Serb: IDR) for planned building positioned at the corner of Humska Street and Nićifora Dučića Street, provided for in DRP, started.
Given its extremely valuable site in terms of urban prerequisites, intervention in this space was carefully considered, and via established implementation methodology, a sort of receptive intervention was selected that is formative, structural, architectural, functional and certainly contextual, in the most expedient possible way, and integrated into immediate environment of the microlocation.
Location is intended for construction of a residential and commercial building, where architectural solution provides for a representative, high-standard, building.
The applied architectural vocabulary stresses formality of the corpus, integrated into raster matrix derived from referenced ranges and routes of existing and planned roads, as well as angular reference position of the building, interpolated on both sides, with determined opening rhythm, properly placed along both street directions while supporting the established matrix and dispositional shape segments on the object, both horizontal and vertical.
In terms of architectural design of the planned structure, it was decided to apply design formats with moderate ratios of “full and empty” in multiplied, reasonable and very skilfully defined proportions and preserved relations.
Intended purpose of the building, with commercial premises on the ground-floor and housing on its upper floors, fits into existing and/or planned character of the immediate environment, which is primarily residential.
